Just to sum up 2009..

Last night at 11.45pm, 15 minutes before 2010, I was riding the Claw at Dreamworld.
Looking out over the Gold Coast, 100m in the air, upside down, & seeing all the lights,
was an incredible sight.
& it made me realise how amazing this year has been for me.

This time last year,
I had just graduated High School, only had a few contacts,
& I was about to start a Diploma of the Music Industry Business course.

In the 12 months since, I’ve:
-Worked with an incredible amount of bands, everyone from The Living End, Damien Leith & Guy Sebastian, to Short Stack, A Sleepless Melody & For Our Hero.
-Met absolutely incredible/inspiring/genuine people, & became good friends with alot of them.
-Organised my own gigs.
-Managed a band.
-Worked at festivals like Sounds of Spring.
-Worked at countless gigs for bands like Ellington.
-Now working as the Producer for the second largest night radio show in Australia.
-Studied at College for a year.
-Seen over 120 bands live.
-Turned 18, & probably partied a little too much.
-Swam with seals.
-Got my belly button pierced.
-Got my P’s.
-I got caught speeding- $500 fine & am now on a good behaviour bond for 10 more months haha
-I’ve failed at things, & Learnt by my mistakes. But I’ve also succeeded, & grown from it.

I was told alot in 2008, to give up on wanting to work in the music industry,
because I wasn’t going to ‘make it’.

That I should ‘Give up, becuase saying I want to work in the music industry,
is just like saying I want to be Beyonce’s Assistant. It won’t happen’

Well I proved them, & everyone else wrong.
I currently have 4 jobs in the music industry,
& I didn’t need to fuck anyone or take drugs, to get those jobs.

This year has been fucking amazing, & I’ve absolutely loved every second of it.
Thank you to every single person who has been in my life this year,
words cannot describe how much you all mean to me.

Can’t wait to see how this year turns out.

FRIDAY

Made the drive up to Brisbane, yet again.
@finabrendan txtd me, & told me to come over to his house,
because they were going to go skateboarding.
When i got there..
@finabrendan & @finamarty were sitting on the couch
playing a skateboarding game on the Play station.
hopeless.

We finally made our way down to the park,
& i watched them attempt to remember how to skate..
considering they hadn’t skated for:
@finabrendan: 1 year
@finamarty: 14 years

So was pretty hilarious.
Many ‘Deck’ jokes were made.. hahaha

Then i had to work at Top Floor,
so spent the night working there.

SATURDAY

Drove back to the Gold Coast wayyy early in the morning, like 9am.
Picked up @ferociousbearr, & went to the beach.
except it was the worst. weather. ever.
So we only stayed there for like, half an hour haha.

Spent the night bumming round the house, not slightly interesting.

SUNDAY

Drove up to Brisbane,
raced @petereckel to the valley,
i won :D
but he drove me to the city,
cause i was working at the
For Our Hero / A Sleepless Melody / One year later / Miles and Miles
gig.

When i got there at 1pm,
people had already been lining up for hours. crazy.
The boys didnt get there about 2.30pm.
It was kinda wierd, cause i didnt know what any of them looked like haha

@maddiimeow gave me a belated birthday present..

We had problems with the following:
-some fans trying to get into the gig early
-some fans trying to get in for free
-fans creeping up the stairs

& then the complaints came..
from:
-meditators
-asians in the stores below
-fashion designers

Someone complained the venue was unsafe so TWO FIRETRUCKS WERE CALLED
& 8 firemen evaluated the building. crazy shit.

There wasnt much to do, so the bands came over & we all just talked for a while to pass the time.
really lovely boys.

The gig started, and there werent any problems. finally.


During ASM, Dean from One Year Later started talking to me,
& gave me some of his bands merch for free.. stoked :D

After the gig, it was insanely hard to try & peel all the fangirls off the bands,
& get them out of the venue.
(fyi girls: the bands are real people, the way alot of you were acting scared them a fair bit /alot.)

After all the fangirls FINALLY left, it was then i realised:

i was the only girl in the whole entire place that day who did not try to tune any guys from any bands. seriously.

After the venue finally cleared out, FOH came over & started talking again,
apparently ive done the same course as one of them, pretty rad.

I caught the train to the valley, got followed back to my car by 3 guys,
which soon turned into 5 guys after they called their mates.
So i pretty much ran to my car & sped all the way to @petereckels house.
Where some yummy Fasta Pasta, Family Guy & Riding in Vans with Boys, was waiting for me.
